Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Matzu app and the matzu.ai website (“Matzu”, “we”, “us”). By using Matzu, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Matzu is a live, conversational AI walking-tour guide. It plans daytrips, narrates places as you arrive, and answers questions. It is provided “as is”, and features may change, be added, or be withdrawn as we improve it.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use Matzu. By using it, you confirm that you are.

3. Your account

You may sign in with Google or Apple. You’re responsible for activity under your account. Don’t misuse the service, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, or use it to break the law or infringe others’ rights.

4. AI-generated content

Matzu’s responses are generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete, or made up. In particular, Matzu may:

• invent places or waypoints that don’t actually exist;
• place a stop inaccurately on the map;
• get details wrong — opening hours, addresses, prices, or links.

Always use your own judgment and verify anything important — directions, hours, safety, transport, and bookings — against official sources. Matzu is an assistant, not a substitute for official information.

5. Credits & purchases

Voice minutes are sold as consumable credits through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Prices are shown before purchase. Credits do not expire, but they have no cash value and are non-refundable except where required by law or the applicable app-store policy. Purchases are handled by the stores and their terms apply.

6. Third-party services

Matzu relies on third parties — including Google (Gemini, Maps/Places, Sign-In), Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, and Resend — and may link to external sites for tickets, bookings, or information. We’re not responsible for third-party content or services.

7. Intellectual property

Matzu, its name, logo, and software are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms don’t grant you any right to our trademarks or content beyond using the app as intended.

8. Disclaimer & liability

To the extent permitted by law, Matzu is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on Matzu’s output. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using Matzu at any time and delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or at matzu.ai/delete-account. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are breached.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zürich, Switzerland, to the extent permitted by law.
